She Eats Houlihan’s Patio PAWty

We recently got invited to celebrate Adopt-A-Shelter-Dog Month at Houlihan’s Dallas-Prestonwood location for their highly anticipated Patio PAWty. Houlihan’s partnered with Three Dog Bakery in Plano, and Operation Kindness to throw an amazing event that donated 100% of all proceeds to Operation Kindness, the largest no kill shelter in North Texas.

We got to take my Yorkie, Kiti, for her first foodie event. As soon as we arrived, she found several dogs from Operation Kindness to mix and mingle with. Houlihan’s provided cute little bandannas for each dog to proudly wear for their night out as well.

Kiti even got her own treats from Three Dog Bakery to snack on while we got to sample a variety of delicious Houlihan’s appetizers. She devoured them and spent quite a bit of her evening trying to find a way to steal more yummy puppy cookies.

Houlihan’s simultaneously provided appetizers for all of the PAWrents to sample.

We started with the Tuscan Chicken Crostini. Great flavors, balsamic added a pop.

To gear up for the next course, we ordered the Raspberry Peach Sangria, loaded with Grand Marnier’s Signature Collection Raspberry Peach liqueur, Chateau St. Michelle Riesling, and fresh sour. It was refreshing, sweet but not overpowering, and perfect for the patio. This came out along with Houlihan’s Famous ‘Shrooms, panko crusted and garlic-herb cream cheese stuffed mushrooms  with a creamy horseradish sauce. This was our favorite app of the evening, and will run you $10.95 for 7 HUGE mushrooms or $5.95 for 3.

The next appetizer out were the Organic Potstickers. The Potstickers are traditionally prepared ginger pork pan-fried dumplings with Sriracha and sesame-ginger soy sauce. This app will cost you an easy $9.95, and it’s worth every penny.

Next out were traditional style chicken wings, served with blue cheese dressing. The wings cost $10.95 for either wing style, buffalo or Thai chili glazed with sesame-ginger soy sauce (not pictured).

For the next course, we snagged a flatbread and another order of ‘Shrooms (don’t judge us, they’re really that good). During this course, Kiti was served another treat from Three Dog Bakery.

To cap off a lovely evening, we ordered two cocktails from the Martini menu. On the left is the Grapefruit Jalapeno Cocktail featuring Deep Eddy Ruby Red grapefruit vodka, fresh lime, soda water, and simple syrup with jalapeno garnish. This delectable cocktail runs $9.00, and I highly recommend it. On the right is the delicious Cucumber Mint Refresher, featuring Hendrick’s fresh squeezed lemon juice, mint simple syrup, and La Marca Prosecco for $9.50. Both cocktails were delicious for after dinner.

We want to extend a hearty thank you to Houlihan’s, Three Dog Bakery, and Operation Kindness for allowing us the opportunity to participate in such a wonderful and charitable event. We had an incredible evening sampling delicious food on a beautiful patio, while meeting many furry pals. We would have taken them all home with us if we could have.

Remember, Adopt… Don’t Shop. Check out Operation Kindness for adoption opportunities for a wide variety of very cute, furry friends in need.
