Nothing goes together quite like Italian food and wine. Every Wednesday, you can get the best of both worlds at Antonio Ristorante’s 4 course, wine paired meal for only $79 a person. Four courses, with wine…. I think yes! Of course we had to try one of these meals for ourselves. The Wine Pairing Dinner we attended featured Gaja wines.
The first course was a Capesante, or pan-seared scallops wrapped in pancetta served over an herbed risotto. This course was paired with a 2015 Sanford Chardonnay.
The second course consisted of an Insalata Di Anatra, or a cannellini bean salad with garlic, red onion, olive oil, and crispy duck over a bed of lettuce. This was paired with a 2014 glass of Gaja Promis, one of my favorite Gaja wines.
The third course was a phenomenal Saltimbocca Di Vitello, or veal scallops rolled and stuffed with Prosciutto, fontina cheese and fresh sage in a tomato demi sauce. This also came with a side of pasta with anchovies, creating a unique flavor profile that paired beautifully with the 2012 Sito Moresco.
No meal is complete without dessert, so naturally, our last course was sweet. We had an Italian Mascarpone Cheesecake drizzled with raspberry sauce, paired with a glass of 2011 Dulcis.
The wine pairing dinners at Antonio Ristorante are fun, social, and a great deal for only $79. Call today to book your spot for the next dinner!
