She Eats Water Grill

Dallasites love a good brunch, and we were recently treated to a seafood fest at Water Grill, located in posh Uptown at 1920 McKinney Ave, Dallas, Tx.  Water Grill provides the full Uptown experience, but with a New England vibe. Their 7500 square feet includes an exhibition kitchen, fish tanks with live shellfish, and a 2000 foot patio with a beautiful fireplace.

We started out with a brunch cocktail, the “WG” Bloody Mary.  Their signature Bloody Mary came with an old bay salt rim, chilled blackened shrimp and a thick slice of bacon.  The bacon and shrimp added a delicious burst of meat to an already hearty and flavorful drink.

The Harwood was the next drink on the agenda. With fresh strawberry and lemon juice with tarragon essence, it was an expertly made vodka cocktail, sweet and citrusy.

Now that our thirst was satiated, it was time for some food!  Their brunch menu consisted of seafood classics with a southern twist.  We decided to go for a classic breakfast item, but with a “WG” twist.  The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes were moist and flavorful, and the syrup gave a nice lemon kick.

We also got to sample the Quiche Lorraine with aged black forest ham, Vermont cheddar and herbed spinach salad.  It was delicious and a savory deep dish.

Crab Benedict with jumbo lump crab, poached organic eggs, and grilled asparagus was next.  Crab was fresh and delicious, and the asparagus was crisp and flavorful.

The lunch menu was next on our agenda with an Oyster Sampler served with fresh horseradish, cocktail and mignonette sauce.

We absolutely loved the Farmed Faroe Islands Atlantic Salmon with fig jam and sour cream.

And the Clam Chowder – New England Style, was a sight for sore eyes.

Check out the deconstructed, Wild Jumbo Shrimp Louie Salad, served deconstructed with chilled wild shrimp and deviled eggs.

I ordered the New England Lobster Roll, traditional style, and it was fantastic. Their were huge chunks of fresh lobster, and the roll warm and light.

A friend ordered the Cioppino, packed full of Dungeness crab, jumbo shrimp and fresh fish in a shellfish broth. Checking this did out made me want to order it next time!

We also tried Filet Mignon, 8 oz, because who doesn’t like a good filet?

We had a fabulous experience at Water Grill, and we can’t wait to come back!
