She Eats Moxie’s

Located in the very posh Crescent in Uptown, Moxie’s offers a full foodie experience in a trendy atmosphere. You can choose to have cocktails in Moxie’s swanky bar, or enjoy the Dallas weather on the large, wrap-around patio.

Moxie’s is conveniently located near American Airlines Center making it a great pre or post game spot. They also feature a Monday – Friday Happy Hour, 3-6 PM featuring snacks and $5 Fave Drinks. If you have a post-work commute, this is a great spot to wait out the traffic after a long day at the office… preferably with some champs.

We got to sample a variety of menu items, and there was not a single dish that was anything less than divine. The menu is infused with Canadian flair,  and regardless of what you choose, you won’t be disappointed.

We started with a variety of apps. The tuna poke was light and delicious – amazing flavor combinations.

We loved the Korean Fried Cauliflower, a healthy take on a fried chicken wing .

Sushi cones might be my new favorite thing. These are packed with shrimp tempura, fresh avocado, pea shoots and nori crisps, served with sesame chili ponzu. They’re insanely good, and I can’t wait to come back and order several for myself.

I’m a Dallas transplant from Michigan. I’ve spent a good chunk of time in Canada, and I have NEVER found great, authentic poutine in Dallas… until now. Complete with beef gravy, cheese curds and all. Oh. My. Gosh.

The fish tacos had a generous cut of chipotle lime Mahi Mahi with a refreshing corn salsa and avocado that balanced out the dish. If you don’t like fish tacos that have a strong fish flavor, you’ll love these mild tacos.

We got to try a sampler of three salads: the kale and quinoa, the seared ginger tuna salad, and the avocado cobb salad. We both liked all three, but favored the cobb salad best. You really can’t wrong with any of the three.

We tried a variety of entree courses as well. Our top steak pick was the tenderloin steak, but the New York strip with peppercorn brandy was also packed with flavor. The red wine demi glaze on the tenderloin really made it stand out. It was cooked perfectly, melt in your mouth, medium rare. We also sampled the grilled ahi with jalapeno lime, which was fantastic and my favorite sauce. The seared salmon with lemon butter was also top notch.

We never end a meal without dessert, and why try one when you can try three. The white chocolate brownie, sticky toffee pudding, and salted caramel and pecan cheesecake were all to die for. We can’t agree on a favorite. Just order them all. They’re SO good.

Moxie’s is where it’s at. It’s definitely topping my list of new Dallas spots, and we can’t wait to go back.
